Our Music Journalism program is a 12-week program focusing on practical musical journalism. Students will explore the history of popular music journalism, learn the craft of writing, and begin developing the tools needed for a career writing about music and the arts. Girls enrolled in this class will have the opportunity to review a live show and have their piece published online. They will also be paired up with one of our photography students to compliment their article with a visual representation of the event. We will have some amazing special guests teaching workshops in this class as well.
At Girls Rock SB, we encourage girls to be confident in their own skin, to know they are enough in all that they do, and to follow their passions, whatever they may be. We recruit instructors from the world's leading music conservatories, and while they are of course extremely talented musicians and teachers, they are even more incredible human beings and mentors to our community's girls.
